Haven

It takes more than a roof to make us feel safe, secure and comfortable. Beyond all else, it is in each other that we find our home. Whether with a spouse, child, sibling, parent, friend or pet — these spirits are whom we orient towards, for love has the greatest force of all. A force to both support and soften us.

Our true place is with family, may it be blood or made. Here the strength of connection can hold our confusion, our sorrow, our rage, our joy, excitement and our fatigue — where it can hold whatever the day has made us into being. When we return here, we can let everything go with the reminder that we aren’t alone, in fact, we are so deeply, beautifully bonded.
